Do you need a car in South Tenerife? For a stay at Villa Dolce Vita in Armeñime, we recommend one for flexible shopping trips, beach days and excursions. You can also combine taxis and buses if you plan your journeys and return connections. The best choice depends on your group, luggage and holiday plans.
This guide explains the practical options for reaching the villa and exploring from it. For an introduction to the neighbourhood, read our Armeñime travel guide.
Hiring a car in South Tenerife
A hire car is particularly useful when you want to visit several places in one day, buy groceries for the whole stay or set your own departure times. If you mainly want to relax at the villa with occasional outings, compare the total cost of car hire with individual transfers.
Aena lists rental companies at Tenerife South including AutoReisen, Cicar, Europcar, Goldcar, Hertz, Record Go and TopCar. Use its official car hire directory to find operators, then compare the terms for your chosen vehicle. This is not a ranking or a guarantee that a particular vehicle is available.
- Check the full price, fuel policy, deposit, insurance excess and exclusions.
- Confirm driver requirements, accepted payment method, additional drivers and late flight arrangements.
- Check luggage space and child seats as well as passenger capacity.
If nine guests are travelling together, remember that the driver uses one of the seats. A nine-seater does not carry nine passengers plus a driver. Compare a suitable vehicle with two smaller cars, taking luggage and separate day trips into account. Our guide to choosing a villa for eight or nine people can help with the wider arrangements.
Driving to Villa Dolce Vita and parking
Save the exact location provided for your booking before leaving the airport, and check the route against current traffic. Searching only for “Villa Dolce Vita” may bring up another property with a similar name.
Parking is on the street and subject to availability. We do not provide a private parking space or guarantee a spot outside the entrance. Unload without blocking access and follow local signs. Navigation times are estimates, so allow extra time for returning your hire car before your flight.
Taxis and pre-booked transfers
A taxi lets you travel to the villa’s address without changing vehicles. At Tenerife South, Aena advises passengers to use the marked taxi rank and obtain a receipt. Check its official taxi information before travelling.
For a pre-booked transfer, confirm the price, meeting point, flight delay waiting policy, baggage allowance and cancellation terms in writing. Give the actual group size: eight or nine guests may need several vehicles or a service with enough passenger capacity. Do not assume child seats or an accessible vehicle will be available without arranging them.
For journeys from Armeñime, the Costa Adeje tourism website lists Taxi Villa de Adeje on +34 922 979 293. Check the local transport contact details and request an estimate for your journey. We do not quote a fixed airport fare because the price depends on the service and its terms.
Bus from Tenerife South: route 40, then route 473
One way to reach Armeñime is to take TITSA route 40 from Tenerife South Airport to Costa Adeje bus station. There, check a connection onto route 473 towards Los Gigantes, which serves Armeñime. Match both services to your arrival day and time.
This gets you to Armeñime rather than the villa’s front door. Before choosing the bus, confirm the most suitable stop and the final route with your luggage. We do not quote a walking distance or describe this part of the journey as accessible without checking it.
For other airport departure times, TITSA’s route 40 page points travellers to route 711. That does not guarantee a late-night connection all the way to Armeñime. Check both legs or arrange a taxi for the last part of the journey.
Arriving at Tenerife North Airport
Route 343 connects Tenerife North with Costa Adeje bus station via Tenerife South Airport. From Costa Adeje, check route 473 or continue by taxi. Consult the timetable for your travel day, as weekday and weekend departures can differ.
Check the airport code carefully when booking a vehicle or transfer: TFS is Tenerife South and TFN is Tenerife North. If bus times do not fit your flight, compare a transfer to the villa with hiring a car at your arrival airport.
Exploring during your stay
Route 473 gives you options to plan outings from Armeñime towards Costa Adeje and Los Cristianos, or towards Playa San Juan, Puerto Santiago and Los Gigantes. Check the direction, boarding stop and return service before setting off. It is useful for specific trips, but it will not replace a car for every destination on your wish list.
Compare costs for the whole group and the whole stay, including airport journeys, grocery shopping and evening returns. Check current TITSA fares and obtain taxi quotes for your dates. Comparing one bus ticket with a full day of car hire will not show the complete picture.
Plan transport around your holiday
Villa Dolce Vita has four bedrooms, three bathrooms and space for up to nine guests, with private pool heating included. It is not a beachfront property. We recommend a car for exploring from Armeñime; if you prefer not to drive, plan your arrival and outings before booking.
Check Villa Dolce Vita’s dates and prices and choose the transport arrangements that suit your group.
