Seven days in Tenerife can include the coast, volcanic landscapes and historic towns while leaving room to enjoy your holiday home. This itinerary uses Villa Dolce Vita in Armeñime, Adeje, as a base. It suits families and groups who want a few memorable outings alongside pool time and relaxed meals.
We recommend having a car. Armeñime is a residential base, and these outings involve driving. The villa is not presented as a beachfront property. Treat the order below as a starting point and move days around to suit conditions, activity bookings and your group.
Planning your seven days in Tenerife
Choose one main outing each day and make everything else optional. For nine guests, compare luggage space in a larger vehicle with the flexibility of two cars. Allow time for parking and walking, rather than assuming the drive ends at the entrance to each attraction.
This plan describes seven usable holiday days. If you arrive late or leave early, keep the first or last day for travel and drop an excursion. Combining two long routes to catch up usually makes the week less relaxing.
Day 1. Settle in and enjoy the villa
Collect your car, check in at the agreed time and buy a few essentials for breakfast and dinner. Avoid booking an activity close to your flight arrival: a simple first evening gives everyone time to settle in.
Villa Dolce Vita has four bedrooms, three full bathrooms and space for up to nine guests. Heating for the private pool is included in your stay, although a particular water temperature is not guaranteed. Read our guide to staying in Armeñime to get a feel for the area before you travel.
Day 2. The Adeje coast and a seaside lunch
Pick one Costa Adeje beach according to the facilities and access your group needs. Alternatively, spend time walking around La Caleta and have lunch there. You do not need to visit several beaches before returning to the villa for a quiet afternoon.
Check beach flags and local instructions before swimming. Our Costa Adeje beach guide compares options. Look up parking and access before leaving, rather than counting on finding a space beside the beach.
Day 3. Make Mount Teide the main outing
Set aside a day for Teide’s volcanic landscape, choosing a route that suits conditions and your group. A road trip through the national park, a cable-car journey and a summit hike are different plans. Do not assume they should all be part of the same day.
Use our Teide day-trip guide alongside Tenerife Tourism’s national park information. Check current access conditions and any bookings or permissions needed for your chosen route. Bring layers and suitable footwear: a mountain outing needs different preparation from a day on the coast.
Day 4. Pool time and one optional activity
After Teide, keep the next day flexible. Stay at the villa or choose a boat trip, Siam Park or a walk around Adeje. Each has its own arrangements, so choose the one your group will enjoy rather than fitting everything in.
For a boat trip, check the operator, departure harbour, cancellation terms and suitability for your group. For Siam Park, check ticket conditions and restrictions before buying. Our whale watching guide and Siam Park guide explain how to prepare. Wildlife sightings and activity operation depend on actual conditions.
Day 5. La Laguna or another northern outing
Spend a day exploring La Laguna, with time for a walk, selected visits and lunch. Adding Anaga involves a separate part of the journey, with its own roads and routes. Choose a specific visit rather than trying to cover every viewpoint and trail.
See our La Laguna and Anaga guide. If you prefer a different northern day out, choose La Orotava and Puerto de la Cruz instead of this itinerary; avoid combining both routes in one day. For guests who prefer less walking, check access and select a small number of suitable stops.

Day 6. Los Gigantes or a Canarian food day
A trip to Los Gigantes and Puerto de Santiago can combine a stroll, views of the cliffs and lunch. Our Los Gigantes guide will help you plan. Alternatively, make a restaurant visit the main event and leave the rest of the day for relaxing at the villa.
Read our Canarian food guide for local dishes and places to eat, including the owner’s recommendations. Confirm a table, opening times and the menu directly with the restaurant, particularly for a larger group. A good meal does not need an excursion on either side of it.
Day 7. Leave room for a relaxed departure
Keep your last day open to repeat a favourite outing or enjoy the house within your agreed checkout time. For an early flight, organise packing and car return the evening before. Avoid an activity that could run late on departure day.
Adjust the week to conditions and your group
Check AEMET weather warnings and official instructions before outdoor activities. Poor conditions in one area do not mean another part of Tenerife is automatically a safe alternative. Check that location too, and follow any restrictions.
With children, older relatives or mobility needs, allow more time and verify each route. The villa has one bedroom and one bathroom reachable without stairs, but other areas, including the pool, involve stairs. It is not offered as a fully accessible property. There is no air conditioning. Pets require prior approval. Parties and events are not permitted, and quiet hours begin at 23:00.
